The Institute of R.H.Y.M.E.S. –Reaching, Helping, Young, Minorities, Excel and Succeed is set to host the 5th Annual Male Summit Saturday, January 18 at the Flint Institute of Arts; in partnership with Ruth Mott Foundation and Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle. An opportunity for men of all ages to join together; in an effort to discuss ways to create positive outcomes for young men of color.
The summit comprises of early morning and mid afternoon sessions, with a special presentation by Jamar Jones, lead math instructor and founder of Might M.U.S.C.L.E.
At the 5th Annual Summit, guest can also expect a full day of empowerment sessions inspired for young men of color, through leadership development and career readiness instruction. Guest speakers include: Paul McNeil, CEO Team Focus Group, Adrian Montgomery, mentor, Sherrod Schuler, public speaker, Jonathan Harris, educator, Kedon Wilson, educator, Caleb Price, educator, Dennis Williams- Mitchell, youth specialist, Corey Black, principal of New Standard Academy and Kenneth Frierson, special facilitator.
Evoking Leadership in Flint Youth
John Rhymes, Executive Director and founder of The Institute of R.H.Y.M.E.S. created a unique mentorship platform to ensure Flint Community Schools students are successful.
Rhymes passion in education and his dedication for youth is contagious to say the least- from school principal to his summer reading program through the Flint & Genesee County Chamber of Commerce. An effort to ensure elementary students are prepared for the forthcoming school year.
The Institute of Rhymes has served young men of Genesee County for more than 15 years.
